国家林草局9月15日公布，2026年全国越冬水鸟同步监测期间，四川记录到82种、19.3万余只越冬水鸟，比2025年同期增加2.9万余只；中华秋沙鸭总数84只，创全省分布新纪录。它是一项省域同步调查结果。
统计不能直接换算成今年9月某条河流的实时数量，也不能证明所有湿地同步增加。观鸟者应把它作为栖息地价值与冬季潜力的背景，出发前仍核对当前水情、天气、开放和保护要求。
中华秋沙鸭怎样远距离辨识
中华秋沙鸭体形修长，嘴细而红；雄鸟头部深色带长冠羽，身体有清晰黑白鳞状侧纹，雌鸟和幼鸟头部棕褐、喉部偏白。急流、反光和距离会遮掉侧纹，因此同时记录嘴形、头冠、体形和潜水行为。
不要把普通秋沙鸭或红胸秋沙鸭仅凭“红嘴”判为中华秋沙鸭。证据不足时保留“秋沙鸭属未定”，从连续照片中比较头颈、胁部和翼上花纹，再向有经验的记录审核者求证。
今秋到冬季怎样安排河流观察
选择公开步道、桥梁下游的合法岸线或固定观鸟设施，从上游向下游安静扫描，使用单筒望远镜而不是沿河逼近。连续降雨、放水和大雾会增加河岸风险，也会改变鸟群位置，应准备替代点或取消行程。
不公开中华秋沙鸭的即时河段、夜栖位置和上岸石滩，不围堵河湾、不放无人机、不追车。若发现非法捕捉、投毒或利用无人机伤鸟，只在安全处记录并联系林业或公安部门，不自行对峙。
What the figures do and do not mean
The September 15 NFGA update says Sichuan recorded 82 winter waterbird species and more than 193,000 individuals in the 2026 synchronized national survey, over 29,000 more birds than in the same 2025 survey period. The total of 84 Scaly-sided Mergansers set a new provincial distribution record. This is a province-wide synchronized survey result.
The figures cannot be converted into a live September count for one river and do not show that every wetland increased. Use them as context for habitat value and winter potential, then verify current water, weather, access and protection rules before travel.
Identifying a Scaly-sided Merganser at distance
This is a slim merganser with a narrow red bill. A male has a dark crested head and distinctive black scale-like marks on white flanks; a female or juvenile has a brownish head and paler throat. Fast water, glare and distance can hide the flank pattern, so record bill, crest, proportions and diving behaviour together.
Do not turn any red-billed merganser into a Scaly-sided Merganser. When evidence is weak, retain 'unidentified merganser', compare head, neck, flank and upperwing across a photo sequence, and ask an experienced record reviewer.
Planning a river watch from autumn into winter
Choose a public path, a legal bank downstream of a bridge or a fixed hide, and scan quietly from upstream to downstream with a scope instead of approaching along the river. Prolonged rain, releases and fog increase bank risk and move birds, so prepare an alternative or cancel.
Never publish a live river reach, roost or haul-out stone for Scaly-sided Mergansers. Do not block a bend, fly a drone or pursue birds by vehicle. If you find trapping, poison or drone-assisted harm, document only from safety and contact forestry or police rather than confronting anyone.
